Congratulations 2019 JWMS Graduates!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

John William Montessori School of Tanoso, Kumasi, Ghana, celebrated its 19th Graduation and Handing Over Ceremony on 24th July, 2019 with family, friends, officials and leaders of the community.

Guest of Honor, Former First lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, in a speech read on her behalf by Mrs, Matilda Akom, Headmistress of Ayiduase M/A Basic School, observed that it is good for parents in the country to inculcate the habit of investment in their wards so they can have a better future. “As parents, try to impart the habit of good savings in your children at an early age.” “Educating our children demands a lot of financial investment and as parents, we need to prepare our children for the future financially. Teaching them moral lessons about managing their finances is by putting money aside like opening a bank account for them”.

Special Guest Speaker, Ms. Constance Walker-Fowler, International Board Secretary for Voices of African Mothers, Inc (VAM), challenged the graduates to “Figure out who you are; Be persistent and Do not give up; If you think you can – You can; and remember, You do not need to be perfect!” She reminded them that they are the generation that will take today’s technology to “new directions”.

Mrs. Nana Fosu-Randall, retired United Nations (UN) Financial Officer and co-founder of John William Montessori School (JWMS), also took the opportunity to advise parents to strongly motivate their wards in presuming their talents. Mrs Randall’s advice to parents, “While helping their children to choose their various careers for the future, they must, at all cost, not try to influence their wards’ decision on which job or profession they intend doing.”

Regional and local community leaders and invited guests recognized the outstanding accomplishments of the graduates and offered their continued support for the John William Montessori School, and the graduation program was beautifully enhanced with music, poetry and blessings of invited guests and JWMS students.
