EBOLA – Facts, Myths & Reality

Educational Conference to share facts on EBOLA and to dispel irrational fear

Since the EBOLA crisis became known, with several cases hitting the shores of the United States, reaction by the public has bordered on hysteria and extreme reactions. Noting that most of these reactions are uninformed and irrational, on December 8, 2014, Voices of African Mothers sponsored a conference to educate participants about EBOLA – how it is contracted and how it is not; what safety precautions an individual could take around persons who are infected to prevent their exposure; and how those affected as well as the general public can manage the emotional reactions triggered by the crisis.

The conference also shared ongoing research to contain the disease, as well as guidelines from reputable organizations, such as the World Health Organization.

Sincere appreciation to Mr. George Wen for donating his time to video our event!
