Construction on 200+ acres continues to help improve education and vocation especially for the poor and needy in the villages. The project will include, along with school rooms, a conference center; temporary housing for participants, visitors, staff and volunteers; catering facilities; administrative offices; and a nursery/kindergarten for the children of the participants and workers.

Today in Ghana, the quality of education in the Volta Region is the lowest in the country, and female enrollment drops from 61.6% in primary school to 7.9% in secondary school. According to the 2014 World Survey on the Role of Women in Development, this is perpetuated by the burden that women and girls carry: to secure shelter, food, water, and fuel for their families.
VAM Girls Academy is a 200-acre plot of land in Sogakope, Ghana, along the Volta River. While we’ve begun the construction of dorms on site, we have been blessed with the opportunity to build the classrooms of VAM Girls Academy this summer, which will serve 240 girls, to start.
The school’s design is modular and scalable. This means two things: First, if we do not reach our goal, we can still provide a (smaller) school for girls this summer! Second, every bit counts - the more we raise, the more students we can have.
We welcome you to join us in becoming a part of attaining this goal by donating to our fundraising page. Please click here to donate and remember that the more we raise, the more access young girls have to a better future. We thank you in advance!
